Star Atlas is a virtual gaming metaverse based in the year 2620. Humans have established the MUD Territory, an alien alliance known as the ONI Region, and the sentient androids of the Ustur Sector.
There is a continual conflict between these groups for control of resources, territory, and power. As a citizen of one of Star Atlas's factions, you'll be able to shape the outcome of this galactic warfare and reap the benefits of your efforts. New recruits can learn about the exciting journey ahead by reading this document.
The Star Atlas metaverse offers a fresh take on the gaming industry by fusing the best of both the classics and the blockchain.
Game Economics
Star Atlas has a deep and comprehensive economy that influences every part of the game. Production mechanisms, guiding mechanisms, and encompassing mechanisms are the three main types of economic mechanisms. Funds for the game's economy come primarily from the prizes players acquire for their flying endeavors. Once these assets have been produced, they can be traded on the markets that sustain pilots.
Production
Ultimately, the production process links mining, refining, and the invention of new technologies to create new assets that may be used in pilots. The core of the game is comprised on the Decentralized Autonomous Organization system, the ability to level up your character, and the ability to expand your territory.
Except for extremely uncommon equipment and resource drops from pilots and a limited number of things introduced into the game through purchases, the vast majority of in-game items are generated in the manufacturing layer (such as unique ships).
The concept of land is essential to the study of the industrial system. Star Atlas's universe consists of worlds, solar systems, and basic land parcels, each of which represents a piece of a planet's total area that can be claimed as private property.
Game Roles
1. Extractors - Extractors are responsible for mining raw materials.
Initial Cost: An extractor is a building that has to be purchased or produced prior to installation. There are also power requirements filled by power-producing buildings that have no running costs
Maintenance Costs: Land value tax (see Land section) and fuel to transport cargo into orbit. Gas fee in the form of ATLAS
Yield: Raw materials, including additional fuel
Perks: Increased energy efficiency and increased resource yield
2. Refiners - Refiners are responsible for taking raw material and converting them into usable resources.
Initial Cost: Refinery deck costs a fixed amount of ATLAS
Maintenance Costs: Land value tax (see Land section)
Yield: Refined materials as crafting inputs
Perks: Increased yield/conversion rate
3. Managers - Managers are responsible for making sure resources are used efficiently in order to create value and utility. Some manager-type roles include a Power Plant Manager and Salvage Operator.
Gameplay
1. Deep Space Exploration -All of the stars you can see are real, and you can go to them. However, there are certain stars that are simply too far away and would require too much energy to reach. There will be no physical skybox, allowing for visual exploration. As a result, all players are free to go anywhere in the Star Atlas galaxy.
Players will take control of their ships and explore the galaxy manually using powerful scanning modules that can be upgraded.
2. Combat -Weapon turrets and missile hold compartments are standard on board. Different parts of enemy vessels and structures can be attacked with turrets of varying energy, ballistic, or disruption types.
If the player has scanned the opponent ship correctly before combat, they will be able to target its subsystems and gain an edge. It is not just sea vessels that can free up rival claims by destroying land and space-based infrastructure. However, such structures may also be armed and ready to launch strikes.
Each participant has the option of marking their position as either "aggressive" or "passive," indicating their preferred approach to combat. Take a passive position to increase your defenses and agility so you can get away from harm if you get assaulted without making any noise.
Decentralized Autonomous Corporations
This is Star Atlas' guild system. Star Atlas's universe is one of the largest in fiction. Tackling the myriad dangers on your own is a difficult and isolating journey. Players are urged to form groups, pool their assets, and compete strategically against other players as a united front.
Decentralized autonomous corporations (DAC) allow for the creation of complete space-cities while allowing its administrators to maintain control over the local economy. Players can dominate territories and the riches therein by working together strategically.
Role-Playing Game
The mining mechanic is the foundation of Star Atlas' economy. The mining industry generates a lot of income, which in turn generates a wide variety of career paths for players to take advantage of. Career paths span from buying and selling raw and refined minerals to transporting cargo and making retail components.
Space Flight Simulation
The thrill of a science-fiction/fantasy space adventure comes from taking the controls of your own ship and venturing out into the unknown. The cockpit perspective grounds the player in the spacecraft they have chosen to use for exploration, fighting, and other role-specific game aspects. Players can take advantage of flightsticks, throttles, multi-button control panels, head tracking gear, and, most crucially, virtual reality head-mounted displays to fully immerse themselves in this first-person, seated perspective.
Star Atlas’ Game Currencies:
1. Star Atlas DAO (POLIS) - POLIS is the governance token used at each level of governance, representing financial stake in the game, voting power in the DAOs where it is staked, and control of the Treasury. It has a fixed supply that will not grow - unless a decision to the contrary will be made by governance down the line.
Star Atlas DAO (POLIS) Token is currently trading at around $0.5315 from Coinmarketcap's data with a current market capital of $11,479,473.
2. Star Atlas (ATLAS) - ATLAS is the payment token used as a medium of exchange. It is inflationary, aiming to match the growth of the in-game economy and provide a solid monetary base for in-game economic interactions and onramps to enter the game.
